Modern man, at least in the western civilization, hunger for other things, like Power, authority, money, etc.
We are very far from understanding the basic needs of hunger and thirst, like they did back then.

Or both? How about the other passages? It would seem we need righteousness not only in ourselves for the world to be as Christ describes.
